A PERFECT PARIS ITINERARY FOR 5 DAYS

Paris is one of the favourite travelling destinations in the entire world. It’s a very pleasant city that would take a lifetime to experience. If you’re planning a trip to paris within 5 days. You’re in for a treat ,most visitors seems to visit Paris for around three days while, three days is better than nothing. But, I think you need more than three days to explore the city of lights. Paris is one of the iconic city, which is rich in history, world renowned art and stunning architecture offers visitors an endless array of unique experiences traveling to Paris.

Paris offers you from famous landmarks like Eiffel Tower and louvre to charming surrounding neighborhoods and hidden gems. So, in this blog I will help you plan your trip to paris and checkout what to do, what to see, where to eat and where to stay. Here’s my perfect Paris itinerary plan for 5 day visit.

DAY 1 : ICONIC LANDMARKS AND RIVER CRUISE

Morning

  • Start at the Eiffel Tower

Start your day of Paris itinerary by visiting the most famous landmark in the whole world which is Eiffel Tower. Wake up early to avoid the crowds. You can also admire the iconic landmarks from the ground or you can even take the elevator to the top for a breathtaking view of the whole Paris.

  • Walk to the Trocadero Garden

If you you are photo lover and want to have a perfect picture of your in Paris then, Trocadero Garden is the place you should consider. It is just across the river from the Eiffel Tower with one of the best views of the tower.

AFTERNOON

  • Lunch in a classic Parisian cafe

Explore the city surroundings and try out some french cuisine at a local restro. I personally recommend you to try a croquemonsieur or some escargot for authentic experience which will blow your mind.

  • Visit the Arc de Triomphe and champs Elysees

After visiting the Eiffel tower you can explore the Arc de Triomphe. Which is in the upgraded part of the city and from where you can have a panoramic views of the city. You can also explore stroll down the champs Elysees which is one of the most famous shopping streets in the world.

EVENING

  • Seine River Cruise

After doing the activities I mentioned Above you can end your first day in Paris with a relaxing cruise along the seine river. The seine river cruise is also a very worthy experience because you’ll pass by the many iconic landmarks illuminated at nights which includes Notre Dame, the Louvre and the the Eiffel Tower itself.

DAY 2 : ART, HISTORY AND A WALK THROUGH MONTMARTRE

MORNING

  • The Louvre Museum

Begin your second day with a visit to the world famous Louvre Museum. It is one of the greatest Museums in the world where you can find and experience on the popular highlights like the MONALISA, VENUS DE MILO and the winged victory of SAMOTHRACE and don’t forget to book your ticket in advance to skip the line.

AFTERNOON

  • Lunch in the Marais District

After a pleasent morning of exploring art and history in Paris you must visit for your lunch and I recommend you to visit Marais which have trendy neighborhoods full of charming cafe’s and restaurants. Marais is also known for it’s vibrant street arts and beautiful architecture.

  • Explore Montmartre

In the afternoon explore Montmartre where you can have the metro to go there. This is one of the historical place in Paris and it’s also known as a home of famous artists like PICASSO and VAN GOGH which offers you bohemian vibe. Visit the Sacre-coeur Basilica for stunning views of Paris and explore the cobblestone streets where, you can discover local art studios and quaint cafes.

EVENING

  • Dinner at Montmartre Bistro

End your day with the amazing delightful traditional french dinner in Montmartre. You can find wide variety of dinner options from cozy restaurants to more luxurious and upscale restaurants.

DAY 3 : THE HEART OF PARIS NOTRE DAME AND LATIN QUARTER

MORNING

  • Notre – Dame cathedral

Begin your day with the morning visit to the iconic Notre-Dame Cathedral. Although it’s in undergoing restoration but you can still experience the stunning facade and explore the incredible surroundings area.

AFTERNOON

  • Walk through LLE DE LA CITE LLE SAINT-LOUIS

After your great morning you can explore to lle saint Louis where, you can cross the bridge with the charming and tranquil areas in Paris. Explore the narrow streets of Saint Louis and don’t forget for some famous Berthillion ice-cream.

  • Lunch in the Latin Quarter

After roaming around the famous attraction head towards the lively Latin Quarter for lunch. Latin Quarter is the historic student neighborhood which is full of affordable eateries, bookstores and vibrant street life.

  • Visit the Pantheon

After having lunch you can visit a stunning Mausoleum which is known as Pantheon. This is very incredible that holds the remains of naotable french figured like VOLTAIRE and VICTOR HUGO.

EVENING

  • Dinner in Saint-Germain -des -pres

Paris is all fomous for its incredible stunning cafes and restaurants. You can have your dinner in Chic neighborhood which is also known for it’s elegant restaurants and cafe culture. You can enjoy your leisurely dinner and enjoy and experience live JAZZ at one of the area’s famous clubs.

DAY 4 : PALACE OF VERSAILLES AND LE MARAIS

MORNING

  • Day trip to the Palace of Versailles

I don’t think trip to paris is complete without visiting the palace of Versailles. So, take a short train ride from paris to explore and experience the opulent palace and it’s incredible vast gardens. Don’t forget to explore the hall of mirrors and the Royal Apartment which is amazingly stunning.

AFTERNOON

  • Lunch at Versailles

You can find various cafes and restaurants in Versailles. Enjoy your lunch in the gardens of Versailles or you can head back to paris for lunch in the Marais district.

  • Explore Le Marais

After having lunch spend your afternoon exploring around the vibrant neighborhood which, is known for it’s trendy boutiques, art galleries and historical sites like the place de Vosges.

EVENING

  • Dining in Le Marais

It’s end of the day four, might be your final evening in Paris so, enjoy your dinner at local restaurants in Le Marais where, you can enjoy french – Jewish fusion cuisine or classic Parisian dishes.

DAY 5 : (OPTIONAL) MUSEUM, GARDENS AND SHOPPING

If you have an extra day in Paris , here are few more things to add to your itinerary.

MORNING

  • Visit the Musée d Orsay

Paris is one of the best places for history and art lover. Likewise, Musée d Orsay is one of the best place for art lover. Which is also a home to stunning collections of impressionist and post impressionist masterpieces.

AFTERNOON

  • Walk through Jardin des Tuileries

Take a relaxing walk through the Jardin des Tuileries. Which is one of the most beautiful parks in Paris. It’s also known as perfect place for picnic or a peaceful afternoon.

  • Shopping in the Le Marais or Saint Germain des Pres

Both Le Marais and Saint Germain offers you a unique shopping experience, whether you’re looking for trendy fashionable items, vintage finds and you can even find wide variety of artisanal goods there.

EVENING

  • Cabaret Show

End your amazing time in paris with a classic Parisian show at the Moulin Rouge or Lelido. Which is popularly know as cabaret show. It is my personal favorite thing and i recommend you to do that.

TIPS FOR YOUR PARIS TRIP

  • Best time to visit

The best time to visit paris is in spring ( April to June) and September to October are also ideal months and it’s comes with the pleasant weather and less crowds.

  • Getting Around

For transportation you can have metro or walk throughly to explore the city. Paris is very pedestrian friendly city so, walking allows you to dive in the local atmosphere of paris.

  • Book Tickets in Advance

For popular attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Louvre and Versailles it’s best to book tickets in advance, ahead of time to avoid long lines and to you can also grab offers and good deals by booking tickets in advance.

Even with five days in Paris you’ll barely scratch the surface of the city, Paris is just too massive within its size and history.
